Artist Statement

My drawings are like lucid dreams.  They are my favorite form of self-expression!

Creating frees me from the constraints of reality and allows me to explore my deepest thoughts and emotions through the interplay of color, pattern, texture and form. My interpretations of real-life subjects transforms them visually into reflections of my imagination. 

 

About the Artist

The creative spirit has been an essential part of Brenae Cochran's life.  Her art largely transcends abstract expressionist styles. While her distinctive pieces are non representational, they are inspired by the natural world, life experiences, travels, and imagination.  Brenae Cochran's works show more than her passion for art. They are the outcome of a self-therapeutic journey. 

 

While not formally trained in the visual arts, Brenae Cochran is truly a student of visual expression. 

Out of her lifelong interest in art and design, she has developed creative methods that combine her talent in sketch drawing with a process involving digital rendering to create unique and striking 

works of art. Brenae Cochran is a lifelong resident of Columbus, Ohio.

I am an Emerging artist with a passion for artistic expression through color, pattern, texture and form across various mediums. My specialties include pastels, sketch drawings, mixed media and digital art.
